Patricia (Trish) A. McDade, DNP, CPNP

Patricia McDade, DNP, CPNP, is a pediatric nurse practitioner with over 26 years of experience providing comprehensive care to children and families. She has specialized training in pediatric mental and behavioral health and is dedicated to improving access to high-quality mental health services for children and adolescents. 

 

Trish McDade earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of New Hampshire, her Master of Science in Nursing from the Catholic University of America, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Georgetown University. She serves as a faculty member and the Advanced Practice Provider Lead for the Virginia Mental Access Program (VMAP), supporting clinicians statewide through education and consultation. 

 

Clinically, she is certified in the Screening Tool for Autism in Toddlers (STAT) and the Childhood Autism Rating Scale, Second Edition (CARS-2), with extensive experience in the evaluation and management of autism spectrum disorders. Her practice also focuses on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of common pediatric mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and ADHD. 

 

Trish McDade is an accredited Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) practitioner, providing evidence-based support to parents managing behavioral challenges. She also serves as the clinical lead for a multi-practice SBIRT initiative in Virginia, helping identify adolescents at risk for substance use and training clinicians in early intervention.
